David Alexander Sy Licauco (Tagalog:[ˈdeɪvɪdlɪˈkaʊko]: born June 15, 1994) is a Filipino actor, model, and businessman. He is known for portraying Malik for GMAtelevision dramaMulawin vs. Ravena (2017), Fidel de los Reyes y Maglipol in Maria Clara at Ibarra (2022–2023), Carding in Maging Sino Ka Man (2023) and Hiroshi Tanaka in Pulang Araw (2024) aired on GMA Network and Netflix.

Early and personal life

Born to Jolan Alexander Licauco and Eden Sy Licauco with Chinese Filipino ancestry, he is the second eldest among his siblings. His siblings are Elan Alyssandra, Jean Arianne May, and James Daniel; the latter two are both volleyball players and have previously played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles. He is one of the grandchildren of Jaime Licauco, an internationally known parapsychologist, newspaper columnist, author, lecturer, hypnotherapist, and consultant. In 2014, he started his career as a model after he won 1st runner-up in Mr. and Ms. Chinatown.

Education

Licauco finished high school at Grace Christian College. He then studied college at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, playing for its varsity basketball team, then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Major in Computer Applications in 2016.

Health problems

On April 23, 2024, Licauco revealed on 24 Oras that he would undergo surgery for his sleep apnea that he had been enduring since July 2023. In May 2024, he successfully underwent through radiofrequency ablation.

    Musical artist

    Darren Lyndon Espanto (born May 24, 2001) is a Filipino-Canadian singer, actor, and television personality.

    He made his first television appearance on YTV's reality TV competition, The Next Star, in 2012 and rose to prominence after joining the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines. He was signed to ABS-CBN's Star Magic talent agency and has since developed a successful music career in the Philippines.

    In 2024, Espanto joined the cast of presenters on It's Showtime.

    Personal life

    Darren Lyndon Espanto was born in Calgary, Canada on May 24, 2001. He is the first child of Filipino registered nurses Marinel Gonzales and Lyndon Espanto, who emigrated to Canada from Nueva Vizcaya province in the Philippines. Espanto also has a younger sister, Lynelle.

    He speaks Tagalog.

    Espanto started singing at the age of three. As a toddler, he serenaded his parents with the tunes like Hakuna Matata from The Lion King. When his family realized his talents, they urged him to pursue singing as a career.

    On April 16, 2024, Espanto told Boy Abunda in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that he had a one-year "puppy love" for Kyline Alcantara, romantic feelings for Ylona Garcia, and in a relationship with Cassy Legaspi. He claimed he only had a friendship with AC Bonifacio. Darren confirmed to Boy Abunda that he and Legaspi had "romantic feelings" with each other.

    In August 2024, Espanto underwent an emergency appendectomy.
