    American actor (born 1983)

    Jonah Hill (born Jonah Hill Feldstein; December 20, 1983) is an American actor. The accolades he has received include nominations for two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, and two Golden Globe Awards.

    Hill is known for his comedic roles in films including The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), Superbad (2007), Get Him to the Greek (2010), 21 Jump Street (2012), This Is the End (2013), and 22 Jump Street (2014). For his performances in Moneyball (2011) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is also known for his roles in Cyrus (2010), War Dogs (2016), Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018), and Don't Look Up (2021).

    Hill voiced characters in the animated films Horton Hears a Who! (2008), How to Train Your Dragon franchise (2010–2019), Megamind (2010), The Lego Movie franchise (2014–2019), and Sausage Party (2016). As a screenwriter, he contributed to the stories of 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, Sausage Party, Why Him? (2016), and You People (2023). He starred in the Netflix miniseries Maniac (2018) and made his directorial debut with the film Mid90s (2018), for which he also wrote the screenplay. He directed and produced the documentary Stutz (2022).

    Hill ranked 28th on Forbes's list of highest-paid actors from June 2014 to June 2015, at $16 million. In 2020, he was found to have sworn on film more than any other actor.

    Early life

    Hill was born on December 20, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. His parents are Sharon Lyn (née Chalkin), a costume designer and fashion stylist, and Richard Feldstein, a tour accountant for Guns N' Roses.     American actor Jonah Hill is best known for his comedic roles in I Heart Huckabees (2004), The Forty Year Old Virgin (2005), Accepted (2006), Knocked Up (2007), Superbad (2007), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Get Him to the Greek (2010), 21 Jump Street (2012), its 2014 sequel as well as This Is the End (2013). He is also known for his critically acclaimed performances in the independent dramedy Cyrus (2010), Bennett Miller's Moneyball (2011), Quentin Tarantino's western Django Unchained (2012), Martin Scorsese's crime film The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), the Coen Brothers comedy Hail, Caesar! (2016), and Gus Van Sant's Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018).

    As a director, he made his directorial film debut with Mid90s (2018). He then directed the Netflix documentary Stutz (2022), and is currently directing the black comedy film Outcome for Apple TV+, for both of which he co-produces and co-stars in.

    He has received two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Moneyball (2011) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
