    Benjamin and Joel Madden, also known as The Madden Brothers, hail from the suburbs of Washington D.C. and are known internationally for fronting their band Good Charlotte. The band formed in a garage while the brothers were in high school and signed a major label record deal shortly after. The brothers have not only written chart topping hits for themselves, they can also be found in the credits of over a dozen other artists’ recordings.

    In true Madden Brothers fashion, the pair have been a hit in the television world, hosting their own MTv show and residing as judges on The Voice Australia for multiple seasons.     In Madden started a band named Good Charlotte with his twin brother Joel.

    While still playing in Good Charlotte, both Madden brothers wrote and produced for other artists. Madden was a co-writer and co-producer of some of the songs on Hilary Duff's Most Wanted () compilation album. He later helped write the songs "Amnesia" for pop rockers 5 Seconds of Summer and "No Ordinary Girl" for pop artist Kalin and Myles. He has appeared as a back-up vocalist for artists such as MxPx, Kill Hannah, Apoptygma Berzerk, Mest, The 69 Eyes, Sean Kingston, Three 6 Mafia, Chamillionaire, and Matisyahu.

    Madden started the fashion line called Made Clothing in , along with his brothers Joel and Josh. In early , it became DCMA Collective. A DCMA Collective store opened in Los Angeles on March 15, , but later closed.

    On April 3, , Madden took part in a boxing match against MTV and VH1 host Riki Rachtman at Ellismania 5: Get These Brawls. The event was hosted by Jason Ellis at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Madden beat Rachtman by knockout at 1 minute and 42 seconds into the first round.[4]

    The Madden Brothers are an American pop rock duo made up of twin brothers Joel Madden and Benji Madden, both of whom are also founding members of the rock band Good Charlotte.

    History

    Twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden formed The Madden Brothers officially in as a side project separate from Good Charlotte, but have origins dating back to While with Good Charlotte, Joel was mainly the lead vocalist with Benji being lead guitarist and backup vocalist. They released a total of five studio albums, two live albums, two extended plays, twenty singles, seventeen music videos and three music DVDs. All of their studio albums received certification including The Young and the Hopeless, which was certified 3× Platinum in the United States and reached number 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart. During their time with Good Charlotte, the brothers saw the sale of over ten million albums worldwide.

    Joel and Benji had been working on The Madden Brothers project since when they began working on different ways of music. They released a free mixtape a short time later in October Titled Before — Volume One, it included collaborations with artists such as Casey Veggies, Wiz Khalifa, Machine Gun Kelly, Rockie Fresh, and The Cool Kids and was said to be made simply for the fun of music.

    The Madden Brothers began working with producer Pharrell Williams and planned to release an album in late The plans fell through for the album release but both continued to work on the project. In , the Madden Brothers lend their voices to animated versions of themselves in the form of two characters, depicted as twin lizard punk rockers and brothers (hence their tattoo-like stripes and/or spots on their scaly skins) created by Michael Patterson.
