    Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (; néO'Meara, born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and media personality. He began his career in 1988 at the tabloid The Sun. In 1994, at the age of 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century. From 1995, Morgan edited the Daily Mirror, but was fired in 2004. He was the editorial director of First News from 2006 to 2007. In 2014, Morgan became the first editor-at-large of the MailOnline website's US operation.

    As a television presenter, Morgan hosted the ITV talk show Piers Morgan's Life Stories (2009–2020), the CNN talk show Piers Morgan Live (2011–2014), and co-presented the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain (2015–2021) alongside Susanna Reid. He has been a judge on the television talent shows America's Got Talent (2006–2011) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–2010). In 2008, Morgan won The Celebrity Apprentice US, appearing with future US president Donald Trump. He was a presenter for TalkTV (now known as Talk), hosting the program Piers Morgan Uncensored from 2022 to 2024, before leaving the network and moving the show to YouTube.

    Piers Morgan was born in 1965. He studied journalism at Harlow College, beginning his career in local south London newspapers. Spotted by Kelvin MacKenzie of the Sun he was given his own showbiz column, Bizarre. Rupert Murdoch made him editor of the News of the World in 1994 and he was headhunted two years later to edit the Mirror, where he stayed until 2004 when he was fired following his decision to publish photos of British soldiers apparently abusing Iraqi prisoners of war. Piers was a judge on both Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent, won the first series of Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice and hosted his own prime-time CNN show, Piers Morgan Tonight. He hosted one of the UK’s popular morning shows, Good Morning Britain and the interview show Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.     From a very public firing to taking over a television icon's time-slot, we took a look at Morgan's journey from local reporter to media celebrity.

    1989: Recruited by Editor Kelvin MacKenzie, Morgan joins 'The Sun' to head its entertainment news column.

    1994: At age 28, Morgan is named Editor of Rupert Murdoch's 'News of The World.' During his time there, the newspaper famously published photos of Princess Diana's sister-in-law leaving a detox clinic.

    1995: After a year as Editor of 'NOTW,' Morgan joined 'The Daily Mirror' as Editor.

    2000: Morgan comes under fire after it is revealed that he bought £67,000 of shares in Viglen right before the paper tipped the computer company as a good buy.

    March 2004: At the British Press Awards, TV personality Jeremy Clarkson punches Morgan several times over 'The Mirror's' coverage of his private life and allegations that he did not write his 'The Sun' column himself.
