Trooper biography

Troopers are the shotgun-wielding counterpart to the Lancer. Armed with various shotguns, they lack the accuracy and range of Lancers but are outfitted in more heavily armored yellow attire. This makes them comparatively more effective in close quarters.

Trivia[]

  • On Halloween 2013, they were among the Grineer units whose helmets were replaced by Jack-o'-lanterns.
  • Prior to Update 11.0 (2013-11-20), Troopers in space-based tilesets used to wield the  Strun instead of the  Sobek. Until Update 16.6 (2015-05-27) their AIs did not take into account the higher fire rate of the Sobek compared to the Strun, resulting in a very sporadic and slow fire rate. This was fixed in the aforementioned update.
  • Troopers can spawn with their pre-rework variant (Default helmet, Strun) when the vault alarm is triggered in a Spy mission. They are far more dangerous, given that Struns are also hit-scan and delivers high  Impact damage if all pellets make contact.
    • This, however, is limited to one tileset, notably the same that will also trigger the Lynx to spawn.
  • Troopers will manually reload some of the shells when initiating a reload, using a separate animation from players. This may be a relic from when the enemy originally used the  Strun, and now that players reload the Strun's ammo one shell at a time the Trooper still has trigger to do so as well.

    1983 single by Iron Maiden

This article is about the Iron Maiden song. For other uses, see Trooper.

"The Trooper" is a song by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released as the second single on 20 June 1983 from the band's fourth studio album, Piece of Mind (1983). It was one of only a few Iron Maiden songs to achieve frequent radio airplay in the United States, peaking at No. 28 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock.

The song achieved success in the United Kingdom, reaching No. 12 in the UK Singles Chart—a better reception than the band's previous single, "Flight of Icarus". It is one of their most popular and remains an essential track of heavy metal music. A live version of the song, from album Death on the Road, was issued in 2005.

    Overview

Written by bassist and founding member Steve Harris, the song is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, which took place during the Crimean War, and inspired by Lord Tennyson's 1854 poem of the same name. The track has been the subject of significant praise since its release, with AllMusic describing it as "an all-time genre classic that boasts guitarists Dave Murray and Adrian Smith's most memorable harmonized lead riff, plus that trademark galloping rhythm", while Mick Wall comments that it is the song "which most Maiden fans from those days still recall first when you mention the Piece of Mind album". Despite the popularity of the song, it was the single's B-side, a cover of Jethro Tull's "Cross-Eyed Mary", which managed to gain a substantial amount of airplay on US radio, becoming one of the band's few tracks, along with previous single "Flight of Icarus", to do so.

The single's accompanying music video, filmed in Brixton Academy and directed by Jim Yukich, included clips of a cavalry battle from the 1936 film The Charge of th

    Trooper (band)

    Canadian rock band

Trooper is a Canadian rock band formed by singer Ra McGuire and guitarist Brian Smith in 1975. The group is best known for their 1970s hits "Raise a Little Hell", "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)", "The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car", "General Hand Grenade", "3 Dressed Up as a 9", "Janine", "Two for the Show", "Oh, Pretty Lady" and "Santa Maria".

    History

Winter's Green, Applejack, and the 1970s

In 1967, Ra McGuire and Brian Smith played in a band called Winter's Green, which recorded two songs, "Are You a Monkey" and "Jump in the River Blues", on the Rumble Records Label. "Are You a Monkey" later appeared on a rock collection: 1983's "The History of Vancouver Rock and Roll, Vol. 3".

In the early seventies, Winter's Green changed their name to Applejack and added drummer Tommy Stewart and bassist Harry Kalensky to their line-up. Applejack became a very popular band in the Vancouver area, and began touring extensively in British Columbia. The band played a few original tunes such as "Raise a Little Hell" and "Oh, Pretty Lady", as well as Top 40 songs by artists such as Neil Young and Chicago.

After hearing Applejack perform, Randy Bachman of Bachman–Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who signed the band to his "Legend" label. The band changed their name to Trooper, and Bachman produced the band's self-titled debut album, Trooper, which contained the Canadian hits "Baby Woncha Please Come Home" and "General Hand Grenade". Managed by Sam Feldman, Trooper began touring extensively in both Canada and the United States.

After moving from Legend Records to MCA Records, Trooper added Frank Ludwig on keyboards. Their 1975 debut album was followed by Two for the Show in 1976, which was certified Gold in Canada. The album contained the hits "Two for the Show", and "Santa Maria". The latter of the two hits was inspired from a trip by boat to Tugwell Island, near Prince Ru
