Bernard Curry is no stranger to a screen, having appeared in Aussie classics like Home & Away, Neighbours, Wentworth, and even dabbling in the international showbiz realm during a short stint on American YA drama Pretty Little Liars.

Now, the 47-year-old has joined a different type of drama…. of the reality TV kind, entering the all-new Big Brother VIP hotel, along with other big names such as Caitlyn Jenner and Donald Trump’s former political aide, Omarosa.

There’s no denying that this latest TV jaunt is a tad different to the other bullet points on his resume. So, just what has Bernard’s acting career looked like up until now? And what about his personal life?

What has Bernard Curry been in?

Bernard’s breakout role was in 1995 as Luke Handley in the popular soap, Neighbours. The actor stayed in Summer Bay for a little over a year and made a return cameo in 2005 during the show’s 20 anniversary.

He also made a brief appearance on Seven’s Packed to the Rafters as Vishnu in 2009 before hosting Beauty & The Geek until 2012, and, in the latter year, appeared in three episodes of Pretty Little Liars as Jamie Doyle.

But, perhaps his most remembered roles came from his time on Home & Away and Wentworth.

Biography

Bernard Curry was born on March 27, 1974 in Melbourne, Australia. He has a sister, Margaret, and three brothers, Peter, Andrew and Stephen, who are also in the acting business as well. The foundation of Bernard's career as an actor has been solidly built on television and movie roles in his native Australia such as Home and Away, Blue Heelers, The King, Out of the Blue, MDA, CrashBurn, Stingers, RAW FM, Neighbours, Halifax FP, Satisfaction and Packed to the Rafters. He hosted the Australian version of reality series Beauty and the Geek for four seasons, and has also appeared in feature films Puppy, The Dish and Junction Boys and various theater productions including The Rocky Horror Show. Overseas, Bernard has guest starred on the American series NCIS, Pretty Little Liars, Hit the Floor and Ravenswood.

He is married to his wife, Sonya, and they have two sons, Fox and Banjo.

    Bernard Curry (born 27 March 1974) is an Australian actor, best known for his role as Jake Stewart in Wentworth, Luke Handley in Neighbours and Hugo Austin in Home and Away.

    Early life

    Alongside his actor brothers Stephen and Andrew, Curry attended acting classes at the Toorak Players (now known as Track Youth Theatre) in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris in the 1980s. Following their time there, they secured agents.

    Career

    Curry first appeared in Neighbours in 1995 as Luke Handley, and remained on the television series for just over a year. He later returned to the show in a video cameo appearance in 2005 for the show's 20th anniversary.

    Curry was a co-writer and actor on the 2002 ABC sketch comedy series Flipside. In 2002, he starred in the American television movie Junction Boys. He later starred in the 2005 feature film Puppy and the 2007 TV film The King. Curry was also the host of the comedy series Monster House on the Nine Network. In 2008, he appeared in the BBC-commissioned soap opera Out of the Blue, playing Nate Perrett. In late 2008, Curry had the small role of Vishnu on Packed to the Rafters, on the Seven Network.

    In 2009, Curry joined the soap opera Home and Away as regular cast member, playing the part of Hugo Austin, and remained until 2010. He hosted the first four seasons of reality tv series Beauty and the Geek Australia, from 2009 to 2012, after which hosting duties were taken over by James Tobin for two years and then Sophie Monk.

    Curry appeared as sports agent Jesse Reade in the 2013 first season of the American sports drama VH1 series, Hit the Floor. He had recurring roles in mystery drama series Pretty Little Liars (2013) as Jamie Doyle, romantic comedy series Faking It (2015) as Principal George Turner and fantasy adventure series Once Upon a Time (2013–2016) as Liam Jones.
