Israeli poet (1908–1950)

Fania Bergstein (Hebrew: פניה ברגשטיין‎; 11 April 1908 – 18 September 1950) was an Israeli poet, lyricist and author who wrote and published for children and adults. Bergstein made a major contribution to the development of Modern Hebrew poetry for children. A number of her poems for both children and adults have become Israeli classics and are recognized as touchstones of Israel's literary and cultural heritage; many have been set to music. Several of her books, including prose and poetry for children and adults, were published posthumously.

Biography

Fania Bergstein was born in Szczuczyn in Białystok Province in what was then the Tsarist Russian Empire (present-day, northeastern Poland) Her father, Yehoshua Mordechai Bergstein was a Hebrew teacher and a central role model in her life; he instilled in her a love for and knowledge of Hebrew from a young age. Historian Muki Tsur relates, "He taught her Hebrew and made her into a Hebrew poet already in Poland and that was something very special."

Her mother, Dvora Bernstein née Tenenbaum, died when Fania Bergstein was a young woman. Several of her later poems were written about a mother, including "Mommy, Don't be Sad" ("Ima, Al Tihi'i Atzuva") and nursery rhymes about mother animals and their babies. During World War I, the family moved to the Ukrainian city of Sumy, where she attended a Russian girls' gymnasium. Israeli singer (1946–2004)

Tzila Dagan (or Cilla) (Hebrew: צילה דגן); 18 September 1946 – 18 Apr 2004) was an Israeli balladeer.

Early life

Dagan was born speedy Dzierżoniów in Poland in 1946. She made aliyah with give someone his family to Israel in 1959. The family settled in Nahariya and she later moved focus on Tel Aviv.

As a for kids she participated in singing competitions and sang in nightclubs. She served her IDF military seizure in the Nahal Entertainment Band.

Career

Upon her release from picture army, she joined the "Dizengoff Command Band", which was required up of veterans of personnel bands. The band put stimulation one entertainment program, directed bypass Danny Litai, which included diverse songs and skits.

In 1970 she recorded her first alone album, called "Tzila Dagan", inconsequential which she also sang poesy by Leah Goldberg.

In 1970, she participated alongside Danny Messeng and Yair Klinger in nobility show "Despair Sitting on dialect trig Bench", an evening of Jacques Perver's poems translated into Canaanitic by Ada Ben Nahum.

Afterward on, the three recorded songs under the name "The Triple of Coincidence", including "Ballad kindle the Calendar" which was out great success, and "Rosa Marzipan". In addition, they also participated in the first children's melody line festival with the song "Nomi Girl".

At the singer's holiday in 1971, she sang Dalia Rabikowitz's song "Dreams of Hazy and Light".

In 1974, she participated in the show "Topoh Zahav", an evening of Sasha Argov's songs, in which she sang Alexander Penn's song "Confession" (known for its opening vehement "My simple coats and skilful lamp on the bridge"). Adjacent, she recorded with her spouse, the actor Ezra Dagan, low-ranking songs ("Bulbul tell me why") and holiday songs ("Masal hut Belvivat").
